Significado de la letra
En esta emotiva canción de Willie Nelson, se narra la trágica historia de amor y sacrificio entre dos amantes en medio de un enfrentamiento violento. La mujer consuela a su amado antes de su último enfrentamiento, prometiéndole su protección divina. Mientras los jinetes se acercan, él se prepara para lo que sabe que será su última pelea, decidido a no permitir ser llevado de vuelta a Texas con vida.
