Producida por J. White Did It y Jazze Pha, la canción es un himno twerk uptempo unapologetic. Iggy publicó el primer fragmento de la canción en su historia de Instagram el 6 de enero.
El productor Jazze Pha también filtró la canción el 18 de febrero mientras trabajaba en el estudio con Iggy. El video musical cancelado, dirigido por Colin Tilley, estaría inspirado en la comedia americana de 1997 "Romy y High School Reunion de Michele".
"Fuck It Up" es una canción del segundo álbum de estudio de Iggy Azalea, "In My Defense", en el que aparece el rapero estadounidense Kash Doll. Originalmente programado para ser el tercer sencillo y visual del álbum, fue finalmente desechado debido a las diferencias de programación que evitarían que las dos mujeres grabaran un video musical.
