Today I close one door...

To open another.

I don't know everything I'll find...

But I do know...

Who's walking ahead of me.

Today I packed my clothes
and all my dreams

I hugged my mother
just like when I was young

My father looked at me
without saying a word

Because he knows this journey
will change my heart forever

My friends will carry on
with the lives they always knew

Maybe when I come back
everything will be different

But there's a voice
that's calling me to serve

And no fear
is greater than moving forward

This is not goodbye...

It's only see you later...

Because when Christ is calling

I want to answer.

Today my calling begins

Two years to love

Two years to serve

Two years to teach

Maybe when I come home

Many things will have changed

But if one soul comes to know Christ

Every step will have been worth it.

I'll sleep in places
I've never seen before

I'll speak with people
whose names I don't yet know

Some will say no

Others will open the door

And someone will be waiting

For the answer they've been praying for

I'll miss my home

Birthdays too

But I know with every step

Christ will walk beside me, amen.

I'm not carrying riches

I'm not carrying power

I'm carrying a message

That can give new life

If one family smiles

Because they found the truth

Then I'll finally understand

What it truly means to love

Today my calling begins

I'm not looking back

Because serving Jesus Christ

Is the greatest gift He has given me

When I return home

I won't be the same

I'll come back with a heart

That has learned how to love

Today I leave as a missionary...

And I will return...

As a better disciple of Christ.
