En una fría y húmeda madrugada de noviembre, el cantar de gorriones está ausente, dejando solo vacío en qué sumergirse. Caí en un tobogán de invierno y me convertí en ese tipo de chico que se desliza por toboganes demasiado estrechos, apenas sacando a flote mis modestas cosas. Pero aprendí rápido cómo mantener la cabeza en alto porque sé que hay esta parte de mí que desea arrebatar el control al piloto y simplemente llevar todo este lío al mar.
Otro lento tren hacia la costa, alguna nueva y cruda obra de arte desde lo alto. Me hundo y luego nado toda la noche. Observo cómo el hielo se derrite en el vaso mientras los elocuentes jóvenes peregrinos pasan y dejan tras de sí su rastro, instándonos a todos a no fracasar.
Por supuesto, fui criado para reunir valor de esas altas y probadas historias, y si puedes, te sugiero hacerlo, porque este pensamiento moderno puede superarte.
