Sobre 'Pink Matter'
Malay contó a Complex sobre el trabajo en el disco y la selección de André 3000: "Es una canción increíble y es la favorita de mucha gente cuando la escuchan. Y con un nombre así, uno pensaría que sería una canción de un solo tipo o algo así, pero si la escuchas es probablemente lo contrario. Es la canción favorita de todos en el álbum, pero no es el sencillo. Eso es mostrar dónde está Frank en realidad. Lo hace estrictamente por el arte. No se trata de: "Oye, esto va a ayudar a las ventas"".
La producción, al igual que todo el álbum, está a cargo de Frank, pero recibió ayuda de su amigo Malay. Malay contó a Complex sobre el trabajo en el disco y la selección de André 3000: "Era una cosa muy sencilla. Llegó un momento en que supimos que estábamos a punto de terminar el disco. Frank estaba reduciendo la búsqueda de quién quería que le diera los rasgos. Sabíamos que no queríamos que fuera un disco lleno de un montón de colaboradores de renombre por el mero hecho de tenerlos. Estábamos realmente tratando de decidir a quién podríamos traer a este proyecto que va a elevar el proyecto en general".
Un juego sobre el término "Pink Matter", la sustancia que compone el cerebro, "Pink Matter" es una meditación sobre la anatomía, el deseo y la fantasía femenina.
La canción presenta al miembro de OutKast André 3000, que también toca la guitarra en la pista. La canción casi incluía a Big Boi agarrando un verso, pero después de discutirlo, Big Boi y André decidieron que no podían hacer una reunión de OutKast en el disco de alguien más.
