Sobre 'Stockholm Syndrome'
"Stockholm Syndrome" es la undécima canción del cuarto álbum de estudio de One Direction.
Esta magnífica canción fue escrita conjuntamente por Harry Styles, John Ryan, Julian Bunetta y Johan Carlsson.
"Nympho" es la abreviatura coloquial del término "ninfómana", que se define como "una mujer que tiene un deseo sexual anormalmente excesivo e incontrolable".
En una entrevista, Harry Styles, quien co-escribió la canción, discutió su significado. Después de definir el "Síndrome de Estocolmo", explicó que aplicaron la idea del fenómeno psicológico a una relación, "de hecho", como añadió Zayn, "disfrutando de la sensación de estar atrapado", con Harry aclarando, "con una ninfómana". Cuando el entrevistador sugirió que la canción era un reflejo de que la banda "se sentía atrapada" en sus circunstancias, Liam descartó esta interpretación, y Harry insistió: "Esta canción era más bien sobre una ninfómana".
El síndrome de Estocolmo es un fenómeno psicológico en el que los rehenes expresan empatía y simpatía y tienen sentimientos positivos hacia sus captores, a veces hasta el punto de defenderlos e identificarse con ellos.
Este tema cuenta con las voces adicionales de fondo de Julian Bunetta y John Ryan.
El álbum debía ser lanzado el 17 de noviembre de 2014, sin embargo, se filtró 9 días antes.
