Ali dijo lo siguiente: "Era tan tarde en la noche, en mis sentidos, a las 3 a.m., estaba en mi cama y me llegó la primera línea. 'Tú eres la razón por la que creo que el amor es real'. Seguí escribiendo, pasan diez, quince minutos y toda la canción que había escrito. La primera versión de la canción y me quedé dormido. Estaba muy cansado. Cuando me desperté y fui a leerlo, me dije: "Oye. Esto es realmente bueno".
Ali dijo lo siguiente: "Cuando lo escribí por primera vez, tenía la melodía. No tenía la música todavía. Hay una o dos partes que terminé cambiando después, pero la melodía estaba ah. En que escribí, no tenía necesariamente el corazón roto, pero los sentimientos que tenía antes de que llegara a mí, no sé por qué esa noche estaba en mis sentimientos. Pero era recordar todas esas cosas que solía hacer con esta chica, cómo me hacía sentir, cómo me siento ahora".
