Este exitoso tema fue brillantemente producido por el conocido productor de la banda Andrew Loog Oldham.
Esta magnífica canción fue escrita conjuntamente por Keith Richards y Mick Jagger.
Según se informó, Mick Jagger escribió la canción después de una noche romántica que él y Marianne Faithfull habían pasado en un motel después de un concierto de los Stones en Bristol.
Aunque era la canción de apertura de la edición americana de Buttons, no estaba en la versión británica,London Records había recortado "Back Street Girl" para darle cabida.
"Let's Spend the Night Together" fue el sencillo principal lanzado antes del álbum de los Rolling Stones de 1967 Between the Buttons.
