Sobre 'Pretty When You Cry'
Según Lana, esta canción fue grabada en una sola toma con su guitarrista, Blake Stranathan, en "Electric Lady Studios".
"La forma en que lo escuchaste grabar es la forma en que yo lo hice. Lo inventé en el acto con mi guitarrista y lo dejé como estaba con el baterista de la sesión. Al igual que la inflexión vocal tiene su propia narrativa, no todo es un impulso lírico, son sólo momentos en el tiempo que son significativos para mí, tal y como eran, como si no hubieran sido tocados. El hecho de que no volviera a intentar cantarla mejor es realmente la historia de esa canción, porque es como si te revelara una faceta de mí mismo: No me importa que no sea perfecto. Por eso esa canción es muy importante en ese sentido" añadió Lana.
