Como explica Davey Johnstone: "La única cosa que alguien más hizo fue, yo hice el wah-wah en su piano eléctrico, porque él no sabía cómo hacer eso y tocar el piano al mismo tiempo. Así que mientras él tocaba el piano, yo trabajaba el wah-wah con el pie. Sus armonías vocales, todos sus overdubs sobre eso, su sintetizador....eran simplemente ya sabes, fenomenales. Y estaba muy orgulloso de ello".
"This Song Has No Title", la quinta canción de Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, es la canción más corta del álbum doble y, de hecho, una de las canciones más cortas basadas en la lírica que Elton ha puesto en cualquiera de sus álbumes.
La canción también es única porque Elton grabó todo el tema él mismo. Cada instrumento que se escucha es un teclado de un tipo u otro (no se deje engañar: la parte "flauta" es de hecho un Mellotron); hay 3 pistas de piano acústico, un piano eléctrico, dos partes de órgano Farfisa y el Mellotron. Además hay más de cuatro capas separadas de voces, todas hechas por Elton también.
