Sobre 'The Prisoner'
Los episodios del programa de tv giraban en torno al número 6, que intentaba escapar de la aldea de la locura, el control mental y el borrado de la identidad. Estos eran temas que no se exploraban con frecuencia en la televisión hasta ese momento. Iron Maiden regresaría a esta prisión de la aldea en "Back in the Village", la sexta pista de Powerslave.
Esta canción fue inspirada por un programa de televisión británico del mismo nombre. En él, un agente del gobierno es mantenido cautivo en un pueblo que parece idílico pero que en realidad es una prisión. Sólo se le conoce como "Número 6" y se le presiona constantemente para obtener información.
